Brand by association: 5 steps to building your brand by partnering with other leading brands

Branding is simply making a name for yourself. And, as such, the brand is the core of every successful entrepreneur who stands out in the market.

However, many enterprising CEOs don’t know what to do to build a prominent brand. While there are many different strategies that can be put into play, perhaps the least discussed and easiest strategy to implement is branding by association.

Now, you may be wondering, “What is branding by association?”

Branding by association is the process of positioning yourself strategically through relationships with experts or well-known and highly successful brands. And the very good news is that you don’t need to know the expert personally to implement this strategy.

Here are five steps you can take right away to start implementing your own brand-by-association strategy:

  • Research and identify five to seven brands or experts who are in contact with your ideal prospects and customers. And from whom your customers are already buying products.
  • Select three to five of those brands or experts that you would like to partner with. The key here is to select experts who have a reputation that can have a positive impact on your brand.
  • Identify three places where you can provide useful information to your prospects and customers. Think blog comments, forum interaction, and social media posts.
  • Identify three ways to promote these brands and experts to your prospects, customers, and community. This could include links to your blogs, re-tweeting your comments, and reviewing and promoting your products as affiliates.
  • Set up a system to make these interactions part of your daily business activities. They don’t need a lot of time. Rather, this strategy can be implemented in less than 30 minutes per day.

Branding by association is one of the strategies that can provide a halo effect for your business by connecting and building relationships with other successful entrepreneurs.
