It seems like the economy is getting better than it has been a few years ago, but almost everyone you talk to is still looking for “the next big thing.” It can be hard to find a job that you really enjoy doing, but it’s even harder to find one that will thrive in the long run. Have you ever heard of YouTube? Of course you have. In case you’ve been living under a rock for almost a decade, I’ll tell you. YouTube is a video-sharing website that has exploded into all aspects of social media since it was created in early 2005. It’s all about how to make money with YouTube, so I have to tell you about these guys. Three young ex-PayPal employees came up with the genius idea to “broadcast themselves,” and the rest is history. It’s pretty entertaining to watch silly videos of pranks, celebrities, and funny pranks, but I bet you never knew you could actually make money by participating. It is true! YouTube was sold to Google almost a year after its birth for nearly $2 billion. It currently operates as a subsidiary of Google, and almost every human being, from babies to seniors, has become a star in the making simply by posting a thirty-second video for the world to see. If we can find the time to escape our daily lives by watching a video online that makes us laugh, sparks creative thoughts, or teaches us a lesson or two, we certainly can find the time to make one. It could be something that is effortless, or it could be difficult. Either way, shoot it, post it, and start earning some extra money fast.
Creating the actual video is probably the most difficult step before you start collecting cash. Start by thinking of an idea. If you have any kind of talent or skill, it will be a brainless situation to record it as a video tutorial. Show me how to cook the perfect scrambled egg, teach me how to use liquid eyeliner even if my hand is shaking, teach me how to ask how to go to the bathroom before traveling to Mexico… the possibilities are endless! And, if you are lucky enough to know how to edit videos, you can very well master animated short stories or catchy popular tunes with recognizable characters that will go global in a matter of days. Just remember to keep in mind that it needs to be unique, one-of-a-kind, and include lots, lots of fabulous flair.
If you have a website, that’s a huge plus. Because you have the opportunity to add a watermark that will direct users to your website instantly. Most of the websites like Google Page will invite you to use the necessary tools. Enhance your website by placing ads and adding content related to your videos. The goal is not to keep viewers on your site, but to get them to click on the large number of ads that are displayed. Fortunately, if you do a little research, there are many Internet companies that will happily target their users based on content alone and pay you per click. It may not seem like much at first, but the more traffic you bring to your website and YouTube videos, the more money you can accumulate at a fast rate. Don’t forget to link to your website in the video and most importantly in the description page.
Apart from taking advantage of the many websites that could help you earn extra money, YouTube is always there for you too. YouTube can add content to your website and will help you add a variety of ads. Take your time, browse the YouTube site and find what interests you. It doesn’t matter if they’re not yours, they just have to have some sort of tie or relationship to what you’re trying to “sell.” Focus on offbeat hobbies, politics, or anything that might just go along with your video. It will bring in a ton of traffic, which in turn, will click on the posted ads, which again, in turn, will have you cashing a check in no time.
Let’s say you don’t have a website as of now (what the heck are you waiting for?!). If you decide to put your video only on YouTube, there is still a way to make quick money with ease. Simply set up your YouTube channel and opt for the small ads to be shown in and/or before your video. YouTube will pay you every time curious viewers click on the ads. A new, independent user who is bold enough to post a video can earn just over $2.00 per 1,000 views. That doesn’t sound like a lot, and you may not pay rent, but it adds up very quickly. For example, if you make about 200 videos over the course of a year and each one gets 5 views a day, that adds up to the $2 we just mentioned. And it’s just money earned by not doing a lot of work. Which will leave a lot of time trying to figure out a new idea for another video. The earnings eventually come slowly, but you’ll still get a paycheck. Imagine if your fashion video is all the fuss, where almost everyone is talking about you around the water cooler. Now, that’s not so far-fetched, but it very well could happen. And, if so, 1,000 views could easily turn into millions, and that $2.00 now seems like just a drop in the bucket. It’s not unheard of to earn upwards of $50 to $100 a day simply by spending 30 seconds or more in front of a camera.
Start by making a video and then watch it. You most likely hate it. Make another, and another until it is perfect. Flaws are good sometimes because they can be perceived as quirky, which usually gets a lot of views on the YouTube channel. This is how you make money using YouTube. Do that. But continue to strive for your best, always. Even then, it could be fun when you’re trying to be serious. And don’t forget to choose interesting titles for your videos. “How to properly clean a litter box” or “Make a butterfly net out of a paper bag” just won’t cut it. The objective is to capture the attention of the spectators from the first moment. If they’re not interested, their fingers won’t click to watch your video and you’ll continue to earn the same salary you’ve been complaining about for far too long. Talk to friends, co-workers, family, other YouTubers, and don’t be afraid to visit the forums. They will prove very useful in the long run and extremely beneficial. You can spend as much time on this, or as little as you like. you’re the star You won’t make money just sitting around thinking about trying. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose!
