Lack of communication within educational institutions

Teachers and school staff administration work together on a daily basis to provide safe educational environments and positive experiences for students. Schools have made important contributions to the development of countries. Although these educational institutions are far from perfect, they still promote successful achievement. However, students, teachers, and staff administration must communicate well within school settings to understand issues and make decisions for effective change.

The lack of effective communication in schools stems from the misuse of precise communication channels within the classrooms. Both teachers and students are in a position to exchange messages and interact for successful communication. But if only one side lacks the way to convey the messages, then misunderstandings occur. In other words, if the non-verbal or written communication of the teacher or student is in direct contradiction to the verbal communication, then it causes a break in communication; letting others form separate and different opinions. This lack of communication can cause conflict and disrespect among members of the school.

The importance of communication skills can never be ignored or neglected since it involves a complex set of skills that can avoid many problems in schools and that can be the strengths that students will use to face the external environment and the challenges of the world of work. Those skills are necessary to put into practice first within the classroom and then beyond to cope with the environment. In addition, the relationships between teachers and their peers are getting worse due to the lack of this art of communication, then; Conflicts arise between classmates who end up with big problems, even the role of administrators is so classic that they only deal with administrative papers and matters instead of being close to school members and connecting parents with parents. teachers. When effective communication occurs, fruitful and successful learning goals are achieved. But if a lack of communication occurs, it means that there is a lack of basic communication elements, which generates bad confrontations between students and educators. Therefore, the success of the learning process depends on the type of relationships between teachers and students.

The teacher within the class cannot be the teacher of the learning process without the participation of the students, he tries to use all his competences to lead, and all the managerial skills to deal with the students to create an environment of open communication and respect and mutual understanding. In return, the teacher at least expects positive feedback that acknowledges their efforts in teaching, supervision, and tutoring. But, unfortunately, there are some ungrateful students who may thank their teachers simply by denying all their efforts, or even making fun of them and disrespecting them in front of their peers.

Good communication skills have become essential in all stages of life. And above all to be inserted within the objectives and programs of the educational system, to avoid the problems caused by the lack of communication. These problems sometimes lead to disaster; such as the physical or psychological harassment so present and alarming in today’s schools, and suffered by both teachers and students. After all, lack of communication is an obstacle to the learning process, which must be resolved in order to improve the quality of education around the world and place great value on each member who contributes and strives to enlighten future generations.
