Prospects for "The last gift" – Jim Stovall

This is a review of the book entitled “The Ultimate Gift” by Jim Stovall. The author himself lives an inspiring life. He was blinded by a degenerative disorder. The most wonderful thing is that it didn’t stop at the point, it started from there. Sometimes we feel like challenges keep us from doing things, but they actually give a boost for great things to happen. This is the first lesson I learn and it caused a drastic change in my outlook on life.

The book talks about some of the gifts that each and every individual has, but we never realize it until we lose them. The way the concept is presented is out of this world. I really loved the presentation.

In fact, I looked for more information about the author and the book on the internet and I learned that there is a movie whose script was based on this book and I also watched the movie to better understand the perspective.

Red Stevens is a billionaire grandfather who passes away, but as he writes his will he realizes that his money has done a lot of injustice to his family in terms of learning the truth about life. Comforts never allowed them to grow in life. He had a huge empire but no one qualified enough to inherit.

Jason Stevens is the grandson and Red had always seen a spark in him. But, like others, he was unaware of any of the realities. So he gave her a series of lessons (called gifts) every month with the help of his lawyer friends. He has 12 gifts left and therefore receives his inheritance after 12 months, which is equivalent to one year. After a year, Jason is a changed man and grows to maturity enough to handle the inheritance. The book teaches a very important hidden lesson, having money / knowledge / resources is not enough, knowing how and where to spend it is learned throughout this life and that is what Jason learned in a year. A truly wonderful book to read and reread over and over again!

In fact, I was moved to read this book. Given this as a chore for me to go through a training program, I regard it as one of the most precious gifts received to date. This book may have occurred to me at the time I needed it, but it gave me a wonderful insight into my life and my future and has really helped me live a better life now.
