Taking Nurse CEUs Without Test

Taking Nurse CEUs

Continuing education for nurses can be a daunting task, but thankfully, the majority of state boards do not require CEU tests. While taking tests can be a great way to reinforce your learning, they can also cause significant anxiety. If you want to take advantage of CE without the stress and anxiety of a test, consider taking a 30-CEUS course from Nursing CE Central. These courses are accredited and will cover a variety of topics, making them perfect for anyone preparing for the NCLEX exam.

If you’re in the state of Florida, there are free Nursing CEUs available online, which allow you to assess your knowledge of training course material without taking a test. These exams are short evaluations that can be completed on any computer. While they do not replace the actual test, they are an excellent way to gauge your skills as a nurse. The CEUS are available online, so you can take as many as you need.

To qualify for nurse CEUs, courses must be accredited and state-approved. These hours can be earned by attending a variety of courses, including in-person classes, webinars, professional conferences, and clinical workshops. Continuing education for nurses should be in an area that is directly related to your specialty. For example, if you work in a hospital, you might need to take CEU courses in pharmacology or management. In addition to free courses, healthcare facilities sometimes offer CEU courses for their employees.

For nurses in other states, continuing education is mandatory for professional advancement. However, if you’re not in a state that requires CEUs, it may be easier to obtain them from a third-party source. Most of the time, the cost is minimal or even free. Some states require nurse CEUs from other healthcare providers, such as pharmacists. Regardless of the cost, continuing education is an essential part of nursing.

RNs must complete at least twelve hours of CNEs in order to maintain their license. This includes the CNE, which must meet the standards of the board. However, APRNs with prescribing authority must complete an additional 5 contact hours of PTEs, above the mandatory 20 hours. If you’re an APRN, this requirement may be different. But it’s still important to ensure that you have completed all the CEs required for your license renewal.

If you are planning to take the course before your license expires, you should renew your license before that date. The renewal period will range from six to 29 months. Then, you must complete your CEUs within that time frame or you risk losing your license. After the first year, you’ll need to renew your license by the end of your birth month. If you were born in an odd-numbered year, your license will expire on November 30th. If you were born in an even-numbered year, however, you’ll have to wait until December 31st to renew your license.
