Tablet PC: the future of small PCs

Tablets have been around for a while, but they never got as much attention as they did in 2010. The main reason for the attention is newer, slimmer, sleeker designs that ditch physical keyboards. With all that has been seen so far in 2010, the industry really has nowhere to go but up.

The concept behind the tablet began to be dreamed of in the late 1800’s, but only started to become a reality in the mid 1900’s. Now, in 2010, all those dreams are finally starting to come true thanks to great advances in technology. The tablet product has to go to Apple’s iPad, which launched in mid-summer 2010.

Now the question is what does the future of tablets as a laptop PC look like? Well as of 2009 the only alternative if you were looking for a laptop PC was to get a netbook, netbooks are mini laptops with a 10.1″ screen size. The market not only disappeared but saw a huge increase in sales .

The tablets, as they are now, are available in Windows, Android, and Mac versions. The future holds more tablets available in the three different subcategories, that’s for sure. Some tablets to keep an eye out for in the near future are the Notion Ink Adam tablet, ASUS Eee Pad EP101TC and EP121, Samsung Tab, MSI WindPad 100, and the yet to be named WebOS tablet from HP.
