Broadway is a small town in the county of Worcestershire, in England. It is located below the well-known Fish Hill. You will find many descriptions and references to this small but charming village, although the best known is the ‘Gem of the Cotswolds’, as Broadway is in fact a little gem on the Cotswold escarpment.

Broadway is a charming little place, even if you decide to visit during the low tourist season. There are numerous activities and attractions in the village and the locals will come up with various recommendations and ‘don’t miss’ suggestions. First, there is the Broadway Tower, often referred to as the Beacon Tower or the Fish Inn Tower. This is a structure that has graced the village since 1790, when it was built by Lady Coventry. It is eye-catching and quite attractive.

The Tower used to be the home of William Morris who is the founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Today, however, it is home to a large country theme park, which is one of the major attractions in the county of Worcestershire. According to locals, on a clear day you can see all of the major surrounding counties, 14 of them, from the tower. Even if you can’t see them all, the sight is truly amazing.

Among the Broadway attractions is Abbot’s Grange, a grand mansion dating back to the 14th century. It was the abbots house, belonging to Evesham Abbey. The main hall and chapel are open to the public and all retain their original charm, although they were restored and remodeled by the Tudors.

The town of Broadway is quite a popular tourist hub, which is not surprising as it is a charming place with friendly residents. There are a large number of hostels and bed and breakfasts in the area, open all year round.
