Crock pot: cook what?

Many people ask me about the crock pot. And equally, many people have no idea how versatile the Crock Pot really is.

Everyone knows that it’s great in soups and stews. He is famous for it.

Long slow cooking is great for tougher cuts of meat.

Take some vegetables, add some cubes of a cheap cut of meat, and a can of soup. Eight to ten hours of slow cooking make it a fantastic, hearty, flavorful meal that the whole family can enjoy.

As for soups, just throw it all out. Cook as long as you like, and then mash it all up: soup.

Now this is all great. Delicious indeed.

But there’s so much more you can do at the Crock Pot.

We never use the oven to cook roast meats again. The crock pot is very easy. And the meat stays so moist. (The roast pork is especially good.)

One of my favorite uses for the Crock Pot is waking up to freshly cooked oatmeal. Hmm! Put the recipe in the night before, just before you go to sleep, with a timer set to start about four hours before you wake up.

Before eating this, I was not a big fan of oatmeal. But now I love it. I’m not sure if it’s the four hour cook or the overnight soak, but it’s a delicious start to the day.

And Dessert Yes, she makes wonderful desserts, from rice puddings, cobblers, crumbles, and stewed fruit.

You can even cook pasta in it.

With a little know-how and a little imagination. I bet you can use your Crock Pot for many of your favorite recipes.
