France: some good reasons to visit this wonderful country

Why France?

France has always been one of the most popular destinations for British tourists, due to its proximity, affordable accommodation and rich culture. So let’s take a closer look at what exactly keeps France one of the world’s most popular vacation spots.

Let’s look at some of the most popular attractions:

eurodisney

Disney Park and Disney Studios are two theme parks that attract more than 25 million visitors each year, where children can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse and all the other famous Disney characters. Although the entrance to the park is not cheap, the value for money is incredible as well as the unforgettable memories that are created. Located to the east of Paris, you can easily spend several days there, with a variety of vacation rentals in the surrounding region.

gard bridge

With more than 1 million visitors each year, the 80 km long aqueduct that transports fresh water from the Cevennes to the city of Nimes is a World Heritage Site. There is an attractive visitor center with shops, restaurants and a children’s center to keep everyone entertained. It’s a great day out if you’re staying in Côte d’Azur Provence.

Mont Saint-Michel

This dream island is located off the east coast of Brittany and is linked to the mainland by a causeway that is covered at high tide. At the top of the island is a historic monastery, with tourist shops on the way to it. Le Mont St-Michel is France’s most popular attraction and is a great place to visit if you are staying in Normandy or Brittany. From a distance, obscured by heat haze and humid air, Le Mont St-Michel looks like a magical city floating in the clouds.

Haribo Sweet Museum

With vintage machines and sweets on display, the Musee du Bonbon is a great family day out to discover a vivid representation of the history of sweets. Location in Uzes, it is a great place to visit if you are staying in the Gard area.

So, as you can see, France not only offers a variety of attractions, but also a large number of stunning beaches and beautiful towns throughout the country. But what about getting there?

Food!

Of course, the food is another thing to mention. French cuisine is undoubtedly one of the best in the world. When in France, you will almost certainly come across a food market, stocked with fine wines, fresh bread and French cheese. Why not try a croissant for breakfast, roasted chicken and vegetables for lunch and a beautiful selection of French meats and olives for dinner – something hard to resist.

Arrive in France.

It’s so cheap to travel over or under the channel these days, by car, train or ferry. It is very cheap if you rent a car or go on your own to discover places in the north. However, flights are becoming more affordable, allowing you to reach the lush, unspoiled beaches of the south. Rent a vacation villa in France to save a little more and you can enjoy luxurious French cuisine.

Many people learn French at school, which gives you a basic vocabulary to take with you abroad. Although most French people will be able to speak English, they will always appreciate it if you try to order your fries, in French for example.

France is a place to go at any time of year, whether you’re going skiing in December or relaxing on the south coast during July, you won’t be disappointed by the myriad of opportunities to explore.
