Get a Bluetooth car kit now – oh, and it works with your game drives, too

Have you ever tried to weave in or out of traffic only to find a wonderful driver (just a bit of sarcasm) messing up the whole “flow” of the road? Then finally you dodge them and… SURPRISE… they’re talking on their cell phones. Pure frustration! Anger! Face it, as much as we despise these people, let’s be honest, we’ve all been that person.

Well, here’s the solution… you either turn off your phone when you get in the car (and that will happen) OR use Bluetooth. And guess what, you don’t need something stuck in your ear to make it look like you just walked out of the Trecky convention. This in-car technology has been around for a while – you don’t need to worry about what FM station you’re on and you don’t need a 3.5mm AUX jack in your vehicle.

There are now many affordable devices that plug into your visor and connect to your phone’s Bluetooth system…and they’re REALLY good, surprisingly good. Our panel has tested several of these and here are the Bluetooth Car Kits we liked:

motorola t215:

The powerful 2-watt speaker overcame any road noise.

Motorola touted up to 36 hours of talk time, making it very convenient.

As expected, it syncs with your device so you can talk hands-free.

Impressive was the “echo-reducing duplex technology”. This allows others to listen to us and listen to us well.

Also, up to 370 hours standby time, not bad!

Motorola TX500:

In a league different from the others.

2 watt speaker.

Up to 45 hours of talk time.

Hands free and connects up to 2 phones at once and pairs with up to 6 – NICE!

Standby time – up to 6 months – industry leading!

This device talks to you to let you know it’s connected, muted, and battery level.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

These devices don’t work through your car radio, so you don’t have to worry about the FM signal you’re on. Also, there is no need to worry about having a 3.5mm AUX audio jack. Almost every cell phone out there today has Bluetooth capabilities, and that’s all you need!

Not all states have laws in place regarding cell phone use, but they should and will. Regardless, these devices will not only save lives, but also save time and money. DON’T be that driver cut off from your duties on the road because the phone is propped up between your ear and shoulder! Not all vehicles have Bluetooth technology, so here you go: get one, stay safe, be responsible!
