A notable city in Africa is the capital of Sudan, Khartoum. It is also the largest city with cultural festivals, excellent museums, palaces, and historical attractions. Khartoum offers breathtaking views and unique experiences for first-time travelers.

The city of Khartoum is a popular attraction for those who visit to enjoy the view of the Al-Mogran confluence, where the Blue Nile meets the White Nile to form the famous Nile River.

Spend an afternoon in the bustling Souq Arabi to shop for all your knick-knacks, jewelry, and whatnot. It is one of the largest souks in the city and you do not dare to take a look at it. Take a trip to the Omdurman region of Khartoum to visit one of the largest souks in all of Africa. Spend hours and hours filling your baskets with take-home crafts, gift-giving, and more.

If you’re new to the city, be sure to take part in a Sufi dance, also known as whirling dervishes among tourists. Grab your cameras and pay a visit to Hamed al-Nil’s tomb and be there at night to see them spectacularly. Nuba wrestling is another interesting play to watch. It is a fight between two teams among a huge crowd of spectators.

Relax and take a break on Nile Avenue for a great cup of tea. The music is very popular among young people and is mainly played in clubs spread throughout the city.

Some of the best places to do your shopping are Souq Arabi, Afra Mall, Al-Amarat Center, Souq Omdurman and Saad Gishra. All of these places are great places to buy souvenirs to take home and give to loved ones.
