Motorola’s new tablet has finally been announced after several weeks of leaks and rumors about the new device, and while many of us don’t understand the idea behind the branding, Motorola Xoom is among the most powerful iPad challengers.
With a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor coupled with two 1GHz chips, it’s a great little nugget, and the 1280×800 resolution display is a whopping 10.1-inches, making it completely in an iPad competitor.
There’s a front-facing video camera for Google Talk (or whatever video calling software you want) and a 5 MP dual-LED flash rear camera, all pretty good on the front spec so far. What’s missing are the front buttons: There are no requirements for them here, as Google features designed them directly into the Android 3.0 operating system that beats at the heart of the Motorola Xoom.
After the Samsung Galaxy Tab running Android 2.2 has yet to rock our world, we have high expectations for the Xoom, which is expected to hit the market soon.
