Scientology Beliefs – What are they?

There has been a lot of media about the Church of Scientology, their beliefs and what they do. Many of these are fabricated or sensationalized. So I have made it my goal to explain the actual beliefs of Scientology. The fact is that when you talk to a Scientologist, you discover almost immediately that what has been said about them is not true. In person, Scientologists actually turn out to be selfless, kind, and respectable.

In reality, many of them are volunteers and work long hours for the benefit of others. Now why do people work so hard for each other and how are there MILLIONS of them? Since Scientology is only about 60 years old, there must be a reason they have such a following. The reason is that it is based on logic and not on pure faith.

Scientology’s modern, functional approach to understanding life has had a sincere appeal to the common man. It is based on knowledge and tools that he can use in his daily life. Help the man answer basic questions like “How do I get my wife to be faithful to me?” “How can I live a happy life?”

Now, speaking of Scientology beliefs, there are simple things to say: Scientology believes that The man is basically good.. That man is fighting for the highest survival for himself and his fellow man. That he certainly is immortal and is not limited to a single life. But rather, his life transcends the universe that you can see around you..

This is something that is not so much a new idea, but rather an TRUE which has been inculcated by many religions since time immemorial. If you look at life, and you see that it has only been man who has created things like the pyramids in Egypt and the skyscrapers in New York City. It takes something higher than an animal to do this kind of thing.

What separates Man from a mother creature is the spirit which in Scientology is known as “Thetan”. The purpose of giving the spirit a name is because, in Scientology, it is recognized that you ARE a spirit, and not to have a spirit. So you wouldn’t say “My Thetan”, you would simply say: “I”. (So it has become a term itself, so that people don’t get into the same idea as “my soul”)

These are some basic things about Scientology that are true and you can find more information at http://www.scientology.org the official site of The Church of Scientology
