Stem cell treatment for the elderly

The cells indicate that the scientist’s knee pain stops.

Seventy-year-old Londoner relieved by cell-based treatment.

Report of a case –

Ms. MM, a London-based scientist sought treatment in Chennai for chronic thigh and knee pain. His condition was not diagnosed in a London hospital. Even after several visits and investigations, London doctors were unable to explain her symptoms and told her that her condition was a mystery to them. He consulted me in Chennai in late December. I diagnosed it as a combination of vascular claudication and arthritic pain. This was confirmed by additional tests.

The MRI showed cartilage loss under the patella in both knees. She was treated with medicinal signaling cells on New Year’s Day. Fifteen days later, the knee pain has been relieved. She has been referred to a specialist for the treatment of remaining thigh pain.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic condition of the joints in which the lining cartilage wears away. When medications and exercise weren’t working, doctors until now advised joint replacement. Joint replacements are usually done when the joint is completely worn out. However, there are many people with mild and moderate osteoarthritis. These people can benefit from cell-based biological treatments after proper evaluation. This will delay the need for a joint replacement.

Now, there are biological treatments available to treat the initial stage of the disease. They are called biological because the natural joint is preserved and is not replaced with metal parts. Biological treatments use the enormous healing power of your own cells and tissues to heal other damaged tissues. Examples are medicinal signaling cells and cell-derived growth factors used for repair. Recent research shows that it is also possible to synthesize these powerful cells by squeezing ordinary cells.

Worn joints, tendons, and ligaments can be repaired without surgery in some early cases using medicinal signaling cells. These cells are present in many places such as bone marrow, fat, teeth, and joint fluid. They are harvested at the time of surgery and processed immediately to obtain a medicinal signaling cell concentrate (MSC). In this case they were obtained from the bone marrow.

Growth factors are also used to repair cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Growth factors present in blood platelets promote a variety of tissue repair at the time of release.

A combination of medicinal signaling cells and growth factors can repair a variety of tissues in the musculoskeletal system.

The procedure is done as a daycare procedure. Pain relief is fast. Objective evidence from MRIs will take time to appear.
