The four aspects of your life that define success

What is success? When we talk about someone who describes himself as “successful,” what kind of person comes to mind? We normally think that a “successful” person is extremely wealthy, has an expensive car, lives in a mansion, and is the head of one company or another. But is this really what success is all about?

The truth is that the definition of success does not depend solely on the size of your bank account. A successful person is someone who is happy with their life as a whole, and that doesn’t necessarily mean huge amounts of cash.

So what is success really? And how can you tell if you have achieved true success in your life? Taking a look at these four aspects of your life will help you find answers.

• Your financial situation: Money may not be the only factor that indicates success, but it is still an important part of it. A successful person is someone who has financial freedom. This doesn’t mean you have to be filthy rich; it simply means that you have enough so that you don’t have to constantly worry about where your next meal or any other basic necessities will come from.

• Your health: what is success without good health? If you are constantly sick because you have allowed your health to deteriorate, you will never be able to focus on what you need to do and you may not even live long enough to achieve true success.

• Your state of mind: someone filled with negative emotions such as fear, guilt, anger or sadness will never be able to succeed, regardless of their financial situation.

• Your relationships: Achieving financial stability and maintaining your health and sanity would mean nothing without the love and support of the people around you. Do you remember the story of Ebenezer Scrooge? His supposed success was empty simply because he chose to focus on material things and completely exclude everyone around him. What is success with no one to share it with?

The true meaning of success is defined by these four aspects of your life. You need to make sure all four of them stay balanced; You cannot be successful if you are a wealthy person without friends or a healthy person without financial freedom. Maintaining a balance between the four can be a difficult endeavor, but the end results will be well worth it.
