The hottest cars on the import scene, including Honda and Acura

Atlanta is home to CNN, major soft drink companies, and a host of other large corporations. Most people generally associate Southern California with an imported car driving scene, and with good reason. However, Atlanta is also a great hub for importing fans to congregate. Atlanta is home to many high-profile imported car events, including the Atlanta Dragway Import Showoff, the Import Alliance show, and the infamous Hot Import Nights. A number of cars are popular on the scene, however the most prominent are the Acura Integra and the Honda Civic.

One of the most popular cars on the Atlanta import scene is the Civic. This vehicle looks superb low, decked out with rims plus there are plenty of aftermarket and JDM parts available. With a few minor changes, the Civic easily becomes a lean and powerful racing machine. Lowering a car improves its cornering ability and provides a more engaging drive.

In general, all Civics are fit to drop and tune a mediocre race car, but the 2012 model brings someone completely new to the table. It has been redesigned and as a result sports a revamped bumper and detailed taillights. The 2012 Civic would make an impressive import car due to its striking new appearance. The engine will be a 2.0-liter with a total of 197 hp and a six-speed transmission will be replaced. The base price is expected to cost almost $16k.

The Acura Integra is another winner; It was especially popular during the 1990s and the fact that it has been discontinued makes it rarer and more coveted. It has been popular for so long due to its ability to transform itself into a powerful racing machine. The most popular engines for the Integra include the Type R and GSR. Many Integra have won first place in drag races around the world. The third-generation Type-R engine makes 195 hp and 8,000 rpm. The valve train contains 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts with variable valve timing and a VTEC system. Many import fans consider the Acura Integra to be one of the best front-wheel drive vehicles ever produced. Much to the chagrin of fans, Acura replaced the Integra with the RSX in 2002.

Pay attention the next time you’re on a trip to Atlanta. You may be passing some of the best imported vehicles in the state!
