Keeping your Android phone safe must be a key concern. It has tons of valuable data that is stored on it. Not only do you not want your personal information falling into the hands of the wrong person. You also don’t want to spend money on replacing your phone. Lookout app has tons of security features such as antivirus, firewall, and intrusion prevention. The best part is that they are extremely lightweight so they won’t bog down your phone. Lookout also helps you if your phone is lost or stolen. You can log in to the web interface on any computer and track your phone. Just click the locate button and it will show you where your phone is on the map. Last Lookout also comes with data backup. It will back up all your personal data, including contacts, photos, videos, emails, and text messages.

WaveSecure

WaveSecure is another great security app that is similar to Lookout. WaveSecure allows you to lock your phone from the web interface so that it becomes useless if you lose it. You can also display a message and sound an alarm. Like Lookout, you can also track your phone with WaveSecure. You can set up an automatic backup or trigger a backup remotely from the website. The only important feature that WaveSecure offers that Lookout does not offer is the wipe function. You can log in to the web interface and remotely wipe all data on your phone.

Protective

Protector is another great app, but it is different from the 2 apps above. Protector allows you to password protect any app on your phone or any feature of an app. It is a great security program that can be very beneficial for many users. Protector allows you to password protect any Android application. SMS, Gmail, email, Settings, Photos, Calendar, Notepad, Chat… or anything else you want to put a password on is an option.

You can even protect only particular features of apps if you need to. There is no workaround that will jeopardize your applications. Even using a task manager won’t prevent apps from losing their protection. If you try to uninstall the Protector app, you need the PIN code to do it!

The only complaint with this app is that there is no pin recovery. If you forget your pin, you’re totally screwed. That’s a big bet, so make sure you have it somewhere.
