Recently, after taking a look at some of the new design features coming to Microsoft’s Office app, Microsoft has confirmed that it is planning a revamp for the Office 365 experience. Initially, they only focus on the three key areas, like the revamp that will bring a simplified ribbon, new colors, icons, and a unique search experience that influences the Microsoft chart. One of the biggest changes is the updated or simplified ribbon designs. About the new look, Microsoft said it offers a cleaner and simpler view while giving users the ability to modify it with the most used tools, which represents the experience of the restriction elements in the Windows taskbar. And while the new, streamlined layouts are meant to focus on simplicity, they can still increase the ribbon to the standard three-line view. The new simplified Ribbon experience is progressing first to the web version of Word which, by launching it earlier in July, experts will start seeing pop-ups in Outlook for Windows. Microsoft also said it’s not even moderately ready to bring a new ribbon to Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Windows, but it will eventually come to those apps. New colors and icons

The second most significant revision is associated with the colors and icons for each application. The new colors and icons are designed to make apps look more modern, and the new icons are assembled as accessible graphics to display with crisp, clear lines on any size screen. They’ll first take a look at the web version of Word, and later this month they’ll make their own way into Works, Excel, and PowerPoint for Windows and for Insiders. Outlook for Windows is scheduled to launch in July of this year, along with the new Outlook for Mac feature in August of this year. Search

Today, Microsoft plans to give search within its Office application a much larger role. Leveraging the Microsoft graph, the new search experience will immediately display search recommendations, when you hover over the option in the search box. This is already available to business users in some capacity, but will start coming to Outlook on the web for business users in August. It’s not quite clear if we’ll start considering these updates and head into the next major Office perpetual version of Office 2019, but it’s possibly a safe bet that they’ll arrive somehow.
