Place a bet on the NFL

Betting on NFL games is one of the most fun activities you could do. As if just watching the game on TV wasn’t fun enough, betting on the game makes it that much more exciting. Now you not only have a passing interest in the game, but you have a personal interest. Players on your chosen team had better eliminate … or else!

So how do you decide which side to bet on in an NFL game? That is a problem that many players face. Should they take the favorite and get a lower payout? Or do they take the underdog and potentially make a lot of money?

As the expression says, “Different strokes for different people.” It really all depends on you. Personally, I think it’s a lot more fun to pick the loser to win. Now this doesn’t mean that I’m going to go and pick all the losers to win. Let’s say the Oakland Raiders are going to Dallas this weekend. Am I going to choose them to win? Probably not. Am I even going to put a single penny in it? No way! I could also go to Vegas and put my life savings at number 37 on the roulette table. It can happen, but it probably won’t.

When I pick a loser, I will do some research. I’m going to use my vast knowledge and soccer experience as an armchair quarterback to make a prediction. This will not be just a guess. It will be a very polite guess. If I know a lot about the homeless and really believe that they have a chance of winning, I will give it a try. As they say, “Any Sunday”.

In addition to the huge amounts of money you can earn by casting the underdog, there are other benefits as well. For example, when you get it right, you will seem like a genius to everyone else at work. You can’t really put a price on that. The number one topic around the water cooler is NFL football. When you seem to know more about it, you now have a certain “expert status” about you. The best part is when you told someone who is a fan of the favorite team before the game that they were going to lose. You told them that you were even gambling money. After you announced this, they laughed at you and started quoting statistics.

“Are you kidding me? How are they going to take on our second ranked career defense? Did you know that last year we were 4th in the league in ratio of points lost? How are you going to fight that?”

It’s these guys who really like to prove themselves wrong and the best way to do that is by picking the underdog. When you pick a favorite and they win, who cares? They were supposed to win. However, when you go to the underdog and they win, you are now a genius.
