Video and art editing equipment

A touch of Hollywood cinematic effect isn’t that hard to ask for on our home videos. Your simple, raw footage can be turned into a proud masterpiece. Gone are those days when dull and lifeless movies ruled our old movie industry. The sound is unclear because no microphones are used, not to mention the lighting is terrible because no gaffers were hired at the time. Thanks to modern technology, since it gave rise to video editing equipment.

First of all, what exactly is video editing? According to Wikipedia, it is the process of manipulating and rearranging video shots and recreating them. It’s a way to remove the flaws from your video footage and create a stream that tells a story or becomes informative and educational. Then add effects, graphics, and sound. You can also modify the video style and mood settings. But in simpler terms, for me, video editing is a combination of art and technicality.

The art of being technical is established with the use of equipment or tools necessary to make sensational raw video shots. You must have a good personal computer equipped with special software to be able to do this. It is perhaps the most common equipment out there today. So, it’s hardware plus software put to good use… viola! In this method, video footage is saved to a computer hard drive and then edited with certain video editing software. Once complete, the finished product is re-recorded onto tape or compact disc. This is a very flexible method, as it allows you to make changes to any part of the video at any time. This uncomplicated technique is called digital or non-linear video editing.

On several occasions, the use of other equipment, such as multiple cameras and other video machines, connects to a central console where it allows you to edit something on the spot. An example of that is live news coverage or a television show. Very high tech indeed!

However, before the advent of these latest devices and computers, the linear video editing method required the use of two editing machines connected together to transfer one tape to another. One machine works as a source while the other acts as a recorder. What if the editor notices a small glitch in the front part of the ? Too bad you can’t go back and re-edit it!

Start making a video that you can show the world now. See you later guys!
