Volkswagen, the German car giant, also fell in love with him and delivered a trunk-equipped version of the Polo under the name Vento. It was not the first time we had seen a sedan evolving from a hatchback, as the concept was started much earlier by Tata Motors with their Indigo CS, which was soon followed by Maruti Suzuki with the boot version of Swift, namely, Swift Dzire. Volkswagen Vento debuted two 1.6L engine options in India with one gasoline and one diesel. The Vento’s gasoline unit is a 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum power of 105 hp at 5250 rpm and a torque output of 153 Nm at 3800 rpm.

The 1.6L diesel engine of the Volkswagen Vento produces a power of 105 hp with its maximum torque of 250 Nm reaching 1500 rpm.

Now recently Volkswagen has added another 1.2L turbocharged gasoline engine to the lineup. This engine has a power output of 105bhp which is similar to the 1.6L engine, but it gets a huge increase in its torque output and generates a massive 175Nm of torque which is available starting at 1500rpm. This engine is only available with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
