Prevent skin aging in 5 easy steps

You can look younger now with these five easy steps to healthy, glowing skin. I always tell my clients that beautiful skin is not an accident and those who have it pay attention to a few really simple steps every day. Knowing what these simple steps are is not always that simple.

If your skin looks lifeless or you’re noticing the first signs of aging, then you need to implement a proven skincare routine right away. When you wait too long, the results of a proven skincare routine will take longer to repair the damage, and sometimes people can get discouraged.

Consistency is key and it’s not what you do once in a while that will make a difference in the way your skin looks, it’s what you do every day.

Believe it or not, lifestyle choices are just as important as your skincare routine, as damaging clothing can limit the results you could get from a proven skincare routine. So making even small changes to your lifestyle can have a big impact on the way your skin looks NOW and in the future.

If you haven’t been consistent or you just didn’t know it, chances are the lines or sun damage “suddenly appeared”, however this is NOT the case as damage to your skin accumulates over time.

Here are 5 things you can do to reverse, prevent, and restore your skin’s health.

1) Stay away from smoking as the toxins found in cigarettes can be very bad for your skin. In fact, smoking can age your skin faster than almost anything else apart from sun damage.

According to an article I found in the British Medical Journal by Dr. Douglas Model, he states the following:

“Changes in skin color and quality suggest a toxic process… In my experience, many people first notice the ravages of smoking when they are told that they can identify themselves as smokers by their face. only.”

two) Drinking alcohol can affect the appearance of the skin immediately, as it forces the blood vessels in the skin to expand and usually stays that way until the effects of alcohol wear off. This is that rosy look some people get when they drink alcohol.

Plus, it will dehydrate your skin, can give you dark circles and bags under your eyes, as well as break down collagen and elastin. Did the ending work? Wrinkles, pimples, due to alcohol toxicity and very dry skin.

3) With the sun’s UV rays, you need sun protection year-round, even in winter. It is important that you protect your skin, since sun damage can be significant as it is cumulative.

Use an appropriate sunscreen every day or a skin care product that contains an appropriate SPF, such as that found in some moisturizers or tinted foundations.

During the summer it is necessary to dress warmly with suitable clothing, a hat and sunscreen. Doing this step will keep your skin YOUNG for a long time.

4) Since your body is made up of 60 to 70 percent water, drinking plenty of water will keep all of your organs functioning optimally.

Water channels nutrients, oxygen, and removes waste and toxins from the body and organs. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and it is the last to receive nutrients, yet it is the first to show signs of damage.

Drinking plenty of water keeps your skin healthy as it will transport nutrients to it, flush out impurities and keep it well hydrated.

5) Get plenty of sleep as this is when your body’s natural repair cycle occurs. Not getting enough rest at night will definitely affect your skin as the repair cycle is not taking place.

Also, your body will now be under increased stress affecting more internal organs which will ultimately affect your skin.

Following these five steps consistently and eliminating them can give you glowing, healthy skin. If you find it difficult to do so, take small steps until you can achieve at least one. Then work on the next problem and remember that Rome was not built in a day.

Beautiful skin is produced through discipline, so don’t give up and look for the positives in how you look or feel and the result will be self-motivation or inspiration.

And lastly, I break skin care down into 3 main parts, nutritional skin care, lifestyle, and a proven skin care routine that includes professional skin care treatments. A competent skin care professional can help you define your skin care goals and can guide you along those lines to give you the flawless skin you want NOW and in the future.
