The Epic T60 is a line of treadmills manufactured by the ICON Fitness company. The Epic Treadmills T60 model was recalled as a result of mounting concerns in August 2005.
Available for purchase exclusively from wholesale retail mogul Costco, ICON’s Epic Treadmills T60 is a form of fitness equipment with a common price tag of less than $ 1,000. Other epic treadmills are the 450 MX, 600 MX, 800 MX, and 1000 MX. The Epic T60 folding treadmill was specially designed for a home gym, but is equipped for use in sports training and light and heavy exercise routines. The Epic T60 treadmill motor is guaranteed for twelve years. The frame of the unit is guaranteed for fifteen years. Parts and labor are covered by a one-year warranty.
The Epic T60 treadmill has a 3HP commercial grade continuous duty motor. The unit’s walking platform measures twenty by sixty, with a PWM controller. Users train in a commercial two-layer belt. The three-inch treadmills, the front and rear rollers adjust at an incline of up to twelve percent. There are six LED window displays and digital controls. Similar to traditional treadmills, the Epic T60 does not require the use of arms.
With a padded platform that can be adjustable, as well as a large-area platform that can support up to three hundred and fifty pounds, the Epic T60 treadmill has a strong motor, pulse sensor and tilt power meters as best-selling points. In August 2005, ICON Fitness, the company behind the award-winning NordicTrack line of fitness equipment, faced concerns about the safety of the Epic Treadmills T60, especially when the assembly instructions are not followed correctly. There were reports of minor foot injuries as well as property damage. The company recalled approximately 16,000 models of the treadmill.
