The Spiritual Shaman – Shamanism and Omens

The practice of shamanism is a logical earth-based spiritual practice. You may even have friends who practice this form of spirituality and never know it. One of the distinguishing factors of a person who practices shamanism is that he tends to get along with animals and all forms of nature. People will also feel comfortable with those who practice shamanism. Wikipidia defines a shaman as “intermediaries or messengers between the human world and the spiritual worlds”.

To practice shamanism it is not necessary to belong to an indigenous culture or even believe in God. Being a shaman is more about developing and practicing practical spiritual traditions that can benefit you and others. It can be argued that the author Edgar Cayce was a modern shaman. Shamanism has flourished throughout the world in virtually all cultures and can be said to be a spirituality without organized religion. The shaman is not a set of rules that one follows, but a free-flowing life form connected to spirit. Shamanism thinks that everyone can connect with spirit and have a personal relationship. With this practice, people can become more in tune with their surroundings and deal with the modern world more effectively.

The shaman believes that everything is alive, vibrating its own energy and speaking to us through this energy. The way this energy becomes conscious or speaks to us is with the use of a sign or omens. These omens can be seen or received from anything. The key is to be aware of what seems out of place or special. It can be something as simple as a word or saying that sticks with you. Omens can also be something so powerful that it practically knocks you off your feet and changes the direction of your life. What you have to do is be aware that there are omens that appear constantly, you just have to learn to recognize them. It is up to you to interpret these omens and find the meaning in them.

Shamans also gather their wisdom and experience through their everyday activities. In the practice of shamanism you will begin to develop a spiritual connection with the things around you, especially those that involve nature. That is why it is so important for modern man to go out into nature, take off his shoes and walk on the grass. After all, we are part of nature, it’s just that we have become separated from it in our modern life.

Shamans believe that all things are energy and this has been proven by modern physics. Objects will appear solid to us because their vibration is more of a coarse or dense vibration. coming into contact or being very close will give us the ability to receive communication from these objects. The shaman uses this energy and directs the flow for healing and spiritual insight purposes. It is well known and proven by scientists that a person’s thoughts will affect the outcome of an experiment. In Hypnosis it is taught that the hypnotist must suspend his own opinions and believes of the subject for fear of negatively influencing the subject.

By looking at a person, shamans have the ability to see the underlying energy field of that person. You can see what is causing disease and other conditions in this energy field. The goal of the shaman is to instruct and guide the person on how to correct the problem. Many times, this can be done without the person even being away from what is happening.

Shamans believe that all power comes from within. These powers are available for the good of the shaman and other people. Shamans have the power to free themselves from the five senses, which gives them the ability to connect with the spirit world and its powers. Shamanism is not so much concerned with the mechanics of how they get their powers, but is more based on the principle of what works. In reality, they only care about the outcome.

A shaman tends to be grounded in this world while providing a connection to the spirit world. This ability allows the shaman to help others see life from a much broader perspective. They can even help others travel in the spirit world. They aid in healing by being able to see the source of illness or discomfort and correct it. A shaman always intends for the person he is working with to come into closer contact with his spirit. As the shaman goes through this process, he acts as a grounding force for that person. Actually, the person with the problem heals himself, the shaman just provides a safe place for that to happen.

Shamanism is living in harmony with nature and with yourself. By connecting the physical world with the spiritual world with full awareness, a shaman creates balance in his life. Shamanism is growing beyond the self-imposed limits of our limiting beliefs and illusions. By doing this, the shaman opens up to the wonders of nature and the spirit world through deep connection.
